What we offer is a Bear Management Area (BMA) in the heart of Northern Ontario that is over 400 square kilometers in size (refer to map), which for the last 10 years has not had a black bear harvested commercially in over half the area. Several black bears this past year have been observed in this untouched area that are in excess of 200kg, and as a matter of fact some have been closer to 300kg.
At Savrow we like to bring the experience close to nature, meaning that we do not offer fancy accommodations with a chef in a restaurant serving some meals off a menu that you can't even pronounce and little mints on your pillows and silk sheets on your beds. We do however offer a remote camp-out style of hunt, that affords little creature comforts, but you are coming to experience the outdoors aren't you? We think that this is what you are looking for, if not stop reading right now and save yourself a lot of time. We will take you out into the bush, you will get bit by bugs, you will get hot and sunburned, you will use muscles that you didn't even know you had…but you will see bears and moose and deer and many other critters as well, in fact they might even bunk in with you from time to time, eat off your plates and even try your food, and that is the point. We want to get you back in touch with your old wild and crazy self. Hey, if you want to be pampered we know of some other outfitters we can put you in touch with. You know, the ones with 200 hunters and all civilized with staff in little outfits saying, “yes sir,” and, “what can we get for you sir,” …please stop. I'm getting sick just thinking of it all.
